Dean’s Welcome

Dean’s Message

“Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tassels turning, ground breaking, a new institute beginning — it’s been another exciting year of firsts for the UNCG School of Nursing! Emerson’s quote about choosing your own destiny feels applicable to where we are right now. Our mission to help transform the profession of nursing requires engagement, scholarship, leadership, and of course, innovation: Going not where the path may lead, as Emerson reminds us, but where there is no path and where we can leave a trail for others to follow.

With that in mind, I am pleased to share with you a few of our latest developments. We are marching forward with new accomplishments and making a great deal of progress along the way. Thanks for staying in touch with us and joining us in going where there is no path. We couldn’t do this work without our students, alumni, faculty, partners and friends!
